Amazon will launch a "new design and reinvention" version of its Luna gaming streaming service later this year, which will still be included in existing Amazon Prime membership subscriptions at no additional charge.
The service is designed to provide an ever-expanding library of games – covering popular masterpieces, classic games and indie games, while providing social games through the new GameNight Center. These social games can be played without a controller; players only need to scan the QR code with their mobile phone to join, similar to the gameplay of "Jackbox Games".
GameNight will launch an exclusive family-friendly game developed by Amazon. It will include more than 25 games when it is launched, including works such as "Anger Birds" and "Explosive Cats" optimized for GameNight, as well as board game adaptations.
Luna can be used without using a computer or host.Instead, players can stream games via Fire TV, smart TV or tablet.Any Bluetooth handle is compatible, but Amazon will continue to sell specialized Luna handles.

“With artificial intelligence and cloud technology, we’re seeing opportunities for creating new gaming genres – experiences that weren’t possible before,” Luna General Manager Jeff Gattis said in a blog post. “We have a great range of games in development and can’t wait to get everyone to experience the new Luna in person later this year.”
This update is equivalent to a re-launch for Amazon, and the newly added GameNight feature will emphasize social gaming more.
“Game hardware is too expensive,” Gattis said. “The game itself is difficult to understand and difficult to get started…and it’s expensive. Games can also make people feel lonely. But at the same time, Prime members know that games may not necessarily be like this. In fact, they tell us that they want games to be a way to reunite family and friends—build connections, enhance feelings, and have fun!”
