Today, Gearbox upgraded "Borderlands 4" and its release date was advanced from the original September 24 to September 12, which triggered discussions about avoiding collisions with other games, such as "GTA6".
Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford did not comment on GTA6, but revealed that the new release date of Borderlands 4 has nothing to do with the competition.
He tweeted: "Borderlands 4's early release is entirely out of confidence in the game itself and its development trajectory, and behind it is the support of actual tasks and bug discovery/fix rates. Our decision has nothing to do with the actual or theoretical release date of any other product."
This may also mean that the new release date of Borderlands 4 has nothing to do with Bungie's Marathon scheduled to be released on September 23.
SIE plans to hold a special press conference for "Borderlands 4" at 5 a.m. Beijing time on May 1, Beijing time, which will showcase new gameplay for more than 20 minutes.Players will have the opportunity to see new missions, weapons and characters, as well as some familiar faces.
