Elder Scrolls 6 is unlikely to render with Unreal 5 engines like Elder Scrolls 4: Annihilation Remake, as this is hardly helpful in solving some of the most common problems of Creation engines, such as fragmented game worlds.
In the latest episode of Digital Foundry podcast, DF answered a fan's question about whether "Annihilation Remake" is the next test of the series.DF says this possibility does exist because other studios have done similar things, such as Housemarque almost transforming Unreal engine into its own in Return.
Still, the possibility of Elder Scrolls 6 rendering using Unreal Engine 5 seems unlikely, as Epic's engine itself cannot solve any of the most significant problems with the Creation engine.
As the Elder Scrolls 4: Annihilation Remake shows, Unreal 5 engine is still limited by the Gamebryo engine that drives the rest of the game, and the game world is still fragmented like the original.
Meanwhile, rendering doesn't have any problems with Stars, and the Creation engine used to develop Elder Scrolls 6 is likely to be further improved on rendering.
If you switch to Unreal Engine 5 rendering, it will not only delay development progress and increase development complexity, but may also cause performance problems.Because "Annihilation Remake" has extremely high resource demand, except for top-end machines and frame generation technology, it does not run well on almost all devices.
