"Malicious Intentions" released a major update, but it seems that it has not been welcomed

Earlier this week, Moon Studios released a major Breach update for its game Malicious Intentions. This action role-playing game has entered the early access stage since May 2024. This update brings a lot of new content, first of all new missions, and high-quality new cutscenes presented through 18 new plot scenes. The game world has almost doubled due to the addition of two new areas - Lowland Meadows and Marin Woods - which also contain a dangerous new threat called "Blight" that players must be careful about. In addition, there are two new settlements in the game, namely Hunter's Vale and Marin Village, as well as several dark caves to explore.

The "Fissure" update also introduced a new end-game "plague system", while redesigning the "food and hunger" mechanism and comprehensively adjusting the "status effect".Of course, a game like this focuses very much on loot."Malicious Intention" now offers over 150 weapon options, an increase of 50 from the time the game was released. This includes new handguards and wand types. There are also a variety of brand new armor sets in the game, and the shield has been redesigned.Throughout the game, players will encounter several new boss battles (and 3 updated boss battles), 9 new plague bosses, 2 new enemy camps, and 9 new small animals.Players who really seek challenges while playing the game can now activate "hardcore mode", in which the character cannot be resurrected after death.

The audio has also been improved, with new music and new dubbing created by Gareth Cocker.Moon Studios also said it has carried out extensive balance tuning, game experience optimization (updated item preview and prompt information), and has significantly improved performance, including support for NVIDIA DLSS 4 technology, memory usage optimization, shortened loading time, and improved physical effects. Finally, this patch also fixed "hundreds of bugs".

Unfortunately, this update was not popular with "Malicious" players.Since the positive review rate is as low as 36%, users on Steam recently said "mostly bad reviews".I hope developers can have an in-depth understanding of the root causes of the problem feedback from the player community.

As a reminder, the Austrian developer has repurchased the game's distribution rights from the publisher Private Division, and is now fully operated independently.
