As the new work in the series after four years, "Battlefield 6", which will be officially released this Friday, has high hopes. After experiencing the ups and downs in the early release of "Battlefield 2042", DICE Studio has a clear goal this time: to create a classic that can redefine the series in this highly competitive shooting game market.
Regarding the excellent performance of the destruction system in "Battlefield 6", technical director Christian Buhl stated one of the simple and key reasons: "Perhaps the only 'magic' is that we are no longer limited to the PS4 or Xbox One platform." He further explained that after getting rid of the constraints of the previous generation console, the basic threshold for development in terms of memory and CPU speed has been improved, which obviously contributes to the improvement of overall performance.
In addition to the upgrade of the hardware platform, Buhl emphasized that the amazing destructive effects are more due to a lot of hard basic work."There's a lot of testing, optimization and iteration behind this. We're using the Frostbite engine that was built for Battlefield and the destruction effects, which are core parts of the engine. There's no 'magic', just testing, iteration and a lot of work."
The previously open beta version has demonstrated the stable performance of the game. Although some believe that this is due to the small scale of the test map, Buhl confirmed that this move is to focus on optimizing the gunplay feel, and the complete launch version will include all large-scale maps.
"Battlefield 6" will be officially released on October 10.Currently, digital version players can pre-load the game on PlayStation and Xbox platforms
