In order to combat the cheating problem of the PC version, the "Battlefield 6" development team has done a lot of things on the PC side, such as hard-to-required secure startup, Trusted Platform Module (TDM) 2.0.However, nowadays, the problem of cheating on host platforms is also rampant. In an interview with foreign media Push Square, Christian Buhl, technical director of Ripple Effect, revealed that they have cooperated with Sony and Microsoft to better detect cheating tools on the console PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, such as the Cronus Zen converter known as the "cheating tool".
Christian Buhl said: "Yes, unfortunately, there are cheating issues on the host side, especially those with Cronus Zen and other hosts. So we work with PlayStation and Microsoft on this to do some level of detection. We actually have our own macro detection mechanism and so on.
We are aware of the problem of host cheating and will take cheating very, very seriously. We want to maintain fair competition and competitive integrity as much as possible, because at the end of the day, we want to make sure players have a fair competitive space to play Battlefield 6.“
Cronus Zen can make people mistakenly think that players are using gamepads instead of the mouse and keyboard they actually connect to the host. Not only that, it can access game scripts and script compilers, opening the door to various cheating behaviors.
Needless to say, once Battlefield 6 is released on October 10, this could ruin the experience for many players.I hope that the cooperation with Sony and Microsoft can effectively combat cheating players.
