B Company released a new Developer Spotlight video, confirming that "Starry Sky" will usher in a new story DLC.
The video is dedicated to the chief creative producer Tim Lamb, who started working with Bethesda since "The Elder Scrolls 4: Annihilation". Every subsequent work, including "Fallout 3", "The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim", "Fallout 4", "Fallout 76", and of course "Starry Sky", has his participation.Lamb revealed a brand new plot DLC, "space gameplay changes" and some new game systems.
Lamb said in the video: "Starry Sky is a culmination of great things. It does a lot of things we've done in other games before, but it's quadrupled. Everything follows our previous works, with more fidelity and more complexity. To me, developing Starry Sky is like doing four games at the same time. You have the part of running around shooting aliens and space enemies; you have the part of flying a spaceship against other ships; you have the game of building a ship; and you have the game of outposts. I really look forward to players to experience all the effort the team put into play in Starry Sky.
We also have some cool content coming soon, including free updates and features players have been looking forward to, and a new DLC plot.I can't reveal all the details yet, but I can say that there are some of our teams that are focusing on space gameplay and want to make space travel more valuable. We will also add some new gaming systems, as well as some small but interesting content. In addition, our certified creators have some interesting works that are about to be released. We can't wait to hand these over to the players.”
Previously, the space travel mechanism of "Starry Sky" was widely criticized by players when the game was first released.
First, there are loading screens for entering and leaving the planet. While this is not a fatal problem, players want the feeling of flying into the stars, or entering the planetary atmosphere and enjoying the surroundings before landing.Unfortunately, all this seems too "scripted".
Furthermore, the game has no way to actually fly to the planets in person. You can fly all the time, but you will never arrive at the planet to complete your landing. To land, you must select the planet in the menu and enter the loading screen. This is obviously not ideal.
Tim Lamb pointed out in the video that there is a team that is focusing on space gameplay, "wanting to make space travel more valuable", "will add some new game systems, and some small but interesting content", which may imply that there will be a massive update to space gameplay.Recent data mining has found some clues about the interstellar travel mechanism, which is known to be missing in the original game.Lamb may be referring to this, but it's better to wait until all the specific details are clear before you get really excited.
As for the second story DLC after Broken Space, there have been recent rumors that it will be launched at the same time as the highly anticipated PS5 version of Starry Sky.
