Switch 2's first game "Fast Fusion" will adopt new rendering technology

In an interview, Shin’en CEO Manfred Linzner revealed that the team is using "new rendering technology" in the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 debut game "Fast Fusion".

Linzner shared the news and talked about the performance of the console: "It's amazing to be able to tap such powerful performance from a device that also has handheld functions." Because of this performance, the new work will be more pictures than the studio's first game "Fast RMX" on Switch 1.Linzner tells us that compared to the previous work, the game world of Fast Fusion will be "more vivid and beautiful".

Shin’en has long been known for its superb technical strength and is using these technologies to implement GameShare functionality. With this feature, players can play with friends with just one game. However, because Shin’en decided to render the game screen separately for two screens, the development work became "extremely demanding" and the implementation of functions was "hard to be difficult".

Linzner said:

"Until recently, Fast Fusion was the only Nintendo Switch 2 game we've ever seen. So everything we did was a first try, which has always been a difficult one. There are many ways to achieve ‘game sharing’, and we decided to do two game renderings for both screens. This means the game engine needs to handle extremely high loads and have to do a lot of optimizations. So, it's actually very difficult."

In addition, Shin’en is open to the launch of the 120FPS model after the release of "Fast Fusion".
