In an interview, Hideo Kojima talked about the style change of his guidance team after he wrote the first draft script for Death Stranding 2, referring to the claustrophobic "Alien" to the action-intensive "Alien 2".

"Ridley Scott's first Alien" was very terrifying. At first no one knew what the monster burst out from people's chests. By the end of the film, the mysterious alien threat was fully revealed, and people understood the rules of the universe, and their fear was greatly reduced. And when James Cameron filmed Alien 2, he made a very wise decision to make the movie no longer about horror, but about action. This added a whole new dimension to the story, an unprecedented dimension."

And this also inspired Hideo Kojima in "Death Stranding 2", saying: "This is exactly what I hope to achieve in the sequel. Everyone knows the world of "Death Stranding", so now we have added combat elements to add new dimensions to it."
