Recently, Hiroaki Yoshiike, chief level designer of Kojima Studio, revealed in an interview that players will get multiple strategic choices to deal with various situations in "Death Stranding 2".
Yoshiike explained: "The core gameplay of Death Stranding is always the transportation of goods from point A to point B. The enemy exists purely to interfere with this task, which is essentially like a chase game. But in the sequel, Mr. Kojima hopes to emphasize the combat system more. Therefore, we designed three main ways of dealing with players: stealth, head-on combat, or choosing a rough terrain that is rarely visited by people. These three strategies are practical throughout the process, and we also designed an enemy AI that can dynamically respond to player behavior, with a reaction mode that goes far beyond simple pursuit. This also means that players with Metal Gear will find familiar operating space."
Yoshiike also pointed out that the alert range of the enemy in this game is not only greatly expanded, but even tracks abnormal sounds without hesitation - this design makes stealth gameplay more challenging. This change echoes Hideo Kojima's design philosophy: "We hope to give players who tend to fight more free space to fight, just like the optimized weapon system in "Metal Equipment 2: Entity" back then." For this purpose, the development team has carefully created three core gameplay systems to ensure that no matter stealth enthusiasts, tactical shooting players or exploration players, they can find the most immersive experience that suits them.
"Death Stranding 2" will be available on PS5 on June 26.The game has officially entered the factory and the test players' evaluations even surpassed the previous work.More details are to be reported later.
