Game developers revealed that the upcoming paid version of Deltarune will support cross-platform purchases on the same series of platforms.
A paid version of Toby Fox's "Under the Legend" sequel will be released on June 5 on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC and Mac platforms.
The paid version will include Chapter 1 and Chapter 2, which were previously released for free, as well as new Chapter 3 and Chapter 4, for $24.99.
However, media reports have reported that the game will support cross-platform purchases on each of the same series platforms, which means that players who purchase the Switch version can also receive free Switch 2 versions, and the same situation applies to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 platforms.
"Hey, do you want a good purchase experience? Because of the support for cross-platform purchases, when you buy Triangle Runes on the PlayStation store, you only have to pay a price to get the PS4 and PS5 versions."
"On the Nintendo platform, we will do the same thing too! If you buy this game on a Nintendo Switch and then want the Switch 2 version, you can get it without additional fees! And vice versa (except in Japan, where local laws require us to charge a small fee). That's right, you can get two versions of the game for just one price."
The report emphasized that players who want to obtain the Switch and Switch 2 versions at one price need to use the same Nintendo account.
Although the paid version of Triangle Runes will contain four chapters, Fox plans to eventually release seven chapters for the game. However, the official promises that players who purchase paid versions will be able to get updated content for free in Chapters 5, 6 and 7.
