After the live-service God of War game was canceled, Sony-owned studio Bluepoint Games is developing a new third-person action game.

In January, Sony canceled a live-service game in development by Bluepoint and a game from Days Gone developer Bend Studio. It is said that Bluepoint's real-time service game is based on the "God of War" series.
Foreign media Tech4Gamers reported that Bluepoint is currently recruiting for a "senior combat designer" position, which mentions that applicants must have a deep understanding of the action systems and mechanics of third-person close combat experiences. "It also requires five years of professional experience in combat design, suggesting that its next game will be focused on third-person action games."
Bluepoint Games is famous for remastering and remastering old PlayStation games. They were previously responsible for "God of War Collection", "ICO & Shadow of the Colossus HD Collection" (PS3), "Uncharted: The Drake Collection", "Gravity Vertigo Remastered Edition", and "Wanda and the Colossus Remastered Edition" (PS4).
Blue Point Studio’s most recent game, “Demon’s Souls: Remastered,” was the PS5 launch game in 2020, and later assisted in the development of “God of War 5: Ragnarok.”The canceled live-service version of "God of War" would have been the studio's first completely original game since its debut game "Blast Factor" in 2006.
Sony acquired Blue Point Studios in 2021.
