On Friday, Unity issued a statement urging all game developers to "take immediate steps" to address the vulnerability. It is reported that all Unity game versions released since 2017 are affected.

However, Unity emphasized that there is currently no evidence that the vulnerability has been exploited, and no users or customers have been harmed."We have proactively rolled out a fix, and developers can get the update now," the company said.

At the same time, Unity's partners have also stepped in to remedy the situation.Microsoft Defender has been updated to automatically detect and block related threats; Valve will add additional protection measures through the Steam client.

Affected by this, developers have to work overtime to patch new and old works. The popular games "Marvel Snap" and "Among Us" have been updated first.Obsidian, on the other hand, took a more radical approach and removed four works including "Lockdown Survival 2", "Oath" and "Pentiment" from the digital store in one go, waiting for the repairs to be completed before re-listing them.

Currently, the vulnerability has a score of 7.4 (out of 10) in the Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) and has been classified as high-risk.

According to CVE analysis, if a game is built using a vulnerable version of the Unity Editor, attackers may use this to execute malicious code on the player's computer and steal confidential information.
