Recently, well-known whistleblower Dusk Golem revealed that although Konami and Bloober Team are currently busy with multiple Silent Hill projects, there are plans to launch DLC for "Silent Hill 2: Remastered".

Dusk Golem analyzed that the announcement/launch of DLC may be synchronized with the release of the 2026 film adaptation "Return to Silent Hill".

The DLC "Born by a Wish" is loved by Silent Hill fans. It changes the perspective from the protagonist James to Maria, telling her story before the main plot takes place, showing her struggle against despair.An encounter with Ernest Baldwin in a remote mansion and the eventual decision to continue the search for James.Fans found this subplot to be an extremely touching addition: it enriched the core themes of Silent Hill 2 and gave Maria more depth to her character.
