Sucker Punch, the development team of "Soul of Sheep Hoof Mountain", said that they did not try to create a longer game than "Soul of Tsushima", they just wanted to enhance the "sense of grandeur and scale" of the original work.
Although the developers have no intention of extending the game time, Sucker Punch co-founder Brian Fleming revealed to Game File that passing the "Soul of Sheep Hoof Mountain" will indeed be "slightly slower" than "Soul of Tsushima Island".However, extending the main line of the sequel is not their core goal.
“With the development sequel, the team’s capabilities have been upgraded,” Fleming said. “Whether it’s performance, rendering, feature optimization, animation transitions or sound processing, all of these steps will evolve.” He added that pushing “excellent work to excellence” is a “pleasant journey.”
Fleming emphasized that the team did not deliberately fill in the sequel with time: “If you ask creative directors Nate Fox and Jason Connell, they would say that our goal is not to extend the game time, but to improve detail polishing and content diversity, and to enhance the 'major and scale' of the game."
"Soul of Tsushima" has a 25-30-hour main process, and the content is sufficient."Soul of Sheep Hoof Mountain", which is larger than the previous work, is expected to provide a larger and richer gaming experience.
