In recent years, the sales of Xbox Series X/S consoles have been unsatisfactory. Now, foreign media Games Industry.Biz reported that Xbox Series X/S sales will further decline as global large retailer Costco stores have stopped selling Xbox Series X/S consoles in stores in the UK and the US.
After players reported that they could not find the Xbox Series console at Costco, GamesIndustry.Biz followed up with the investigation and found that Xbox consoles have been removed from the Costco website since August 6, 2025.
Foreign media reporters went to the Costco store and called the customer service department of another store in the UK. The customer service representative responded: "We actually don't have Xbox anymore."
Costco has not issued further confirmation or statements, but former IGN host and writer Destin Legarie, who has been reporting as an independent journalist in recent months, also called Costco for a similar report and received the same reply: Costco "will no longer sell Xbox consoles."
Legarie was told it was “a commercial decision” and Costco “has no plans to sell Xbox consoles in the future.”
