"Soul of Sheep Hoof Mountain" and "Soul of Tsushima" belong to the same series, but the two are hundreds of years apart and the character lineup is completely different. So what exactly makes them a series?
Recently, Brian Fleming, head of SuckerPunch studio, was interviewed by foreign media. He said: "We believe that the core of the Ghost series is to control the samurai sword, which is part of the essence."But this does not mean that any person from Botswana or New York can be awarded the title of "Soul".
"We can't imagine that the Souls series is set in feudal Europe, which makes no sense, there are a lot of games that are set in this way, but the Souls series isn't. For us, the natural beauty of Japan is part of the essence of the series. I think Japanese fans really appreciate that. That's what we think, and it's always at the heart of some form of open-world samurai adventure."
Like SuckerPunch did in Souls of Sheep Hoof Mountain, Fleming explained that the team might change the time period, and they might explore different scenarios, but certainly “there are boundaries that we might not cross.”What is this boundary...well, only time will tell us.
