In an interview with All Out Gaming during the Cologne Game Show, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford almost confirmed that the studio is developing a sequel to the independent spin-off of Borderlands 2, Tina's Fantasy Land.
When asked if it would continue Tina's story, Pitchford responded: "I feel like we're just starting to explore this field," and revealed that Gearbox has a passionate fantasy development team.
He compared "Little Tina's Fantasy Land" to "a beachhead established by the invasion operation", implying that in the future, there will not only be more Little Tina series works, but also similar games that combine table role-playing games and treasure-brushing shooting elements.
This treasure-sweeping shooter game inspired by the table RPG was first launched in 2022 and has been praised by the core fan base, so it is reasonable for the game studio to intend to develop a sequel.Although there were rumors in 2024 that the planned sequel had been cancelled, industry insiders who allegedly had contact with 2K Games employees later denied the claim.
