Recently, Microsoft announced that Game Pass subscribers in Xbox Insiders can now experience more games through cloud streaming.It is worth noting that PC players can even stream on the cloud to play some of the games they own through Microsoft channels.This feature is open to Xbox Game Pass Core or Standard subscription users and needs to be located in an area that supports Xbox cloud gaming.
"We are expanding how players experience PC games through Xbox Game Pass. As part of the testing session, Xbox users who subscribe to Game Pass Core or Standard will gain access to PC versions of some games for the first time, providing a more flexible device choice—both running on a PC or playing on Windows palm devices."
It should be noted that PC players still need to access cloud gaming services through the Xbox PC application in the Windows system.The advantage is that players do not need to consider hardware configuration or storage space issues, and cloud streaming technology can enable instant game launch.
The expansion of the PC-side cloud gaming service is only one month after Microsoft announced that it will provide cloud streaming capabilities through the Xbox PC app.This feature is free to users without additional purchases.The move is seen as an extension of Microsoft's "Xbox Play Anywhere" program, which allows players to share the right to use qualified games on Xbox consoles and PCs (Microsoft Store).
Prior to this announcement, the cloud gaming feature was only available to Game Pass Ultimate subscription users and has now been expanded to Basic and Standard Edition subscribers.
Microsoft emphasized: "This update is one of our overall efforts to improve the Xbox experience on PC, aiming to extend the Xbox features that players love to more scenarios. Whether it is streaming your own games, returning to the cloud games, or earning rewards through games, it is all about giving users more control, flexibility and personalized gameplay."
Given that handheld devices may not be able to run hardware-required games with the highest image quality smoothly, Xbox Cloud Gaming Service will support users to stream full versions of games they already have directly on the device.Of course, using this function requires ensuring that the device is connected to a high-speed network.
