Sad Cat Studios' sci-fi 2.5D horizontal scroll game "Replaced" recently showed a stunning new live demonstration during the Cologne Game Exhibition, but the specific release date has not been announced.Unfortunately, game director Yura Zhdanovic has updated the video and confirmed that this game will be postponed to the spring of 2026.
In addition, the Xbox One platform seems to have been de-supported – the official only mentions the Xbox Series X/S and PC platforms (but will still be logged in to Game Pass). The good news is that Zhdanovic showed a number of improvements and "evolved" game scenes, emphasizing that the picture details and fidelity have been significantly improved compared to previous demonstrations. The added animation effects and excellent light and shadow performance are enough to prove the team's efforts during this period.
Zhdanovic announced a new release window at the end of the video, saying the team only needs "a little more time" to polish it, and plans to announce the final trailer and exact release date later this year.
"Replaced" was originally unveiled at the 2021 E3 exhibition and has been developed since 2018.The game background is set in the United States in the 1980s, and players will take the AI character R.E.A.C.H. who is forced to parasitize human bodies to start adventures.
