IGN General Review:
Many of the charms of "Metal Gear 3" come from its breakthrough performance. In 2025, if you revisit this work through "Metal Gear 3: Remake", you can still feel a strong sense of "modern nostalgia" - retaining the core flavor of the original work, but also integrating the visual effects of modern games.
By current standards, "Metal Equipment 3: Remake" is not a game with huge content or complex gameplay, and some of the content is even a bit dull, especially for players who are used to the subsequent works of the series. But this work just proves that the excellent infiltrating action mechanism can stand the test of time, and Hideo Kojima's iconic "political drama" and playful style are also preserved intact. It is these elements that make "Metal Equipment" still memorable today.
Of course I am still curious: If "Metal Equipment 3: Remake" does not bring innovation in gameplay or system, what is its significance in addition to visual upgrades? But if I were asked to recommend one of the many versions, I would recommend this version whether you revisit or experience it for the first time.Even though Hideo Kojima and the original crew did not directly participate, the remake continued the spirit of the original version.
