With only ten days left before "Metal Equipment Δ: Snake Eater" is released, the classic voice actor David Hayter of the series has a heavy point in an interview: Even without Hideo Kojima participating, this legendary IP may still have a great new work."Of course it won't be exactly the same as the Kojima era, but it won't prevent it from being wonderful."
Series producer Ken Akira Okamura admitted in the latest issue of PC Gamer magazine: "As many original cast members go their separate ways, we are clearly aware of the limitations of our abilities. But by developing a remake of "Snake Eater", we re-recognize the potential of the team."
Hayter used the clever analogy of film history: "When I was a kid, I thought the Tim Burton version of Batman could not be surpassed until Nolan brought a new interpretation. Kojima's genius cannot be copied, but this does not mean that others cannot create their own classics." This statement is an interesting echo of Okamura's statement that the remake can be used as a "substitute" or "supplement" of the original 2004 edition.
Although Korami has not officially announced a new project, players will soon be able to test their team strength in the remake of "Snake Eater" (login to XSX/PS5/PC) released on August 28.
