According to a new report, the sequel to Square Enix (SE) and Deck Nine Games' chapter-based adventure game "Life Strange: Double Exposure" is currently under development.
Deck Nine Games' chief animator David Blanchette and cutscene designer Kyle Norlander both mentioned in their respective LinkedIn profiles that are working on an unannounced project.According to Blanchette's resume, the game is scheduled to be released this year (2025).When the details were exposed on Reddy, a former Deck Nine Games developer named LadyDevHeart claimed that the project is actually a sequel to Life Strange: Double Exposure.
This LadyDevHeart proved her identity qualifications by sharing her behind-the-scenes experience in the development dilemma of "Strange Life: Double Exposure".Her message was also partially confirmed by another former Deck Nine developer in the same discussion post.
According to LadyDevHeart, "Singular Life: Double Exposure 2" (temporary name) is more likely to be released in 2026, rather than the 2025 listing window mentioned in Blanchette's resume. She mentioned that the sequel is part of the contract signed by publishers SE and Deck Nine on "Double Reveal".So the second game was planned from the beginning.
The former Deck Nine Games developer also said that after the studio completed its last project, management has sacked all departments one by one, including the animation department, design department, quality assurance department (QA) and engineering department. She mentioned the studio head's name, saying that they failed to obtain a new project contract, so she chose to "disband" the entire development team in a bid to find a way to survive.
