Microsoft: Next-generation Xbox is the first player

By November this year, the Xbox Series X|S console will celebrate its fifth anniversary.Naturally, there are more and more discussions about the next generation of Xbox consoles, and Microsoft recently talked about their vision for future hardware and how to create a "player-first" environment that allows players to seamlessly connect between multiple devices.

微软:下一代Xbox目标是玩家第一

On the official Xbox podcast show, the next-generation vice president of Xbox Jason Ronald explained that the company is focusing on how to make the Xbox ecosystem evolve across devices in the future."When we think about the future of Xbox, what we really focus on is how to put players at the heart of the experience. When you really look at the gaming habits of today's players, you'll find that the vast majority of people play on multiple different devices," he said.

According to Ronald, the future envisioned by Microsoft is that players can choose portable devices like Xbox ROG Ally when they go out, and when they return home, they can continue to play on dedicated hardware, completely connecting from the last interruption.

"So what we really focus on is how to develop the Xbox ecosystem so that players can play games wherever they want to play; at the same time, we will continue to build dedicated devices that are deeply optimized for games, such as Xbox Ally or the next-generation console. So, what we really focus on is players' preferences for playing games in the current environment and design and build a platform with that."

What we know right now is that the next generation of Xbox will be powered by AMD technology.Microsoft said it will be able to bring "deeper visual quality" and bring "immersive gaming experience" with the power of AI.Microsoft also hinted that in the future, games will not be "locked to a single store" or "support only a certain device."In February this year, Xbox President Sarah Bond said that the new console will bring "the largest technological leap in the hardware generation ever".

When it comes to handheld consoles, the Xbox ROG Ally will be launched during the holiday season and is available in two models. The ROG Xbox Ally X is in black color, equipped with AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme chip, equipped with 24GB of memory and 1TB SSD; while the basic version of ROG Xbox Ally is white, using AMD Ryzen Z2A chip, equipped with 16GB of memory and 512GB SSD.The official price has not been announced yet, but recently leaked that the high-end "X" model could be as high as $1,050, while the standard ROG Xbox Ally could be priced at $699.
