After previewing its new announcement for "Summer 2025", Bandai Namco Entertainment officially announced the news that "Legend of Infinity" will be released on August 19.Although fans are grateful for any new updates in this JRPG series, Japan's long-time "Legend" series fans have been expressing their dissatisfaction with the way the IP is managed after yesterday's announcement.
Many of the complaints stem from dissatisfaction with the lack of a larger announcement in the near future (though the series is celebrating its 30th anniversary), and how the new remake announcements are handled – for example, The Endless Legend Remake will be released on the same day as Dragon Quest I & II Remake, which will be a massive release, especially in Japan.
Some of them said that the remake was not worthy of such a fanfare trailer, at least it had to be promoted with the new work, and some said that "Legend" needed more new games, but the official has been pushing the surrounding area.
Some players are not satisfied with the games chosen by Bandai Namco Entertainment for the remake plan. They suggest that compared with "Endless Legend", works such as "Fateful Legend 1", "Fateful Legend 2", "Rebirth" and "Fairy Legend" are more urgently needed to be re-released, because these games are almost impossible to play in recent years.
Despite the different opinions, most of the criticism in Japan seems to be due to the long-accidentality of fans with the series’ publishers and marketing decisions.Fans said, "The criticism of "Legend" is not out of hatred, but a cry of despair", "The favorite IP is going to die", and hope that the official can listen to the voices of players and fans to do some marketing that can really promote sales!
