The most criticized issue of the beta version of Battlefield 6 is the lack of server browsers. The developer has confirmed that the official version will include this feature, and it seems that it is ready to conduct public testing in advance.
While it is not yet certain whether the feature will appear in the next public beta weekend (August 14-17) or "Battlefield Lab", the development team is confident in its server browser solution and believes it will meet players' needs. What's more striking is that DICE developers also explained why they don't directly follow the server browser mode of previous works such as Battlefield 4.
In response to players' concerns that custom servers will be occupied by AI robots, David Sirland, chief producer of the Battlefield series, explained that there are many misunderstandings and promised to explain in depth in the future, but emphasized that AI will only appear when players actively build matches with robots - "If you don't want AI, just create a match without robots."
Regarding why we do not adopt the same browser design for Battlefield 4, Battlefield 1, and Battlefield 5, he gave a core explanation: "The fundamental problem with the traditional model is that a large number of servers are idle. From a global perspective, this kind of hardware resource utilization is extremely low, and we prefer to adopt hybrid solutions."
"Battlefield 6" will be available on the PS5/Xbox Series X|S/PC platform on October 10, and PS5 players can unlock exclusive reward content.
