"Minecraft" Disney DLC Development Studio launches original work

Everbloom Games Studio, known for its production of "Disney Magic Kingdom" DLC, has now officially entered the world of blocks and entered the independent gaming stage with its first original work "Nullpoint Protocol".This is a cooperative Rogue Lite game, designed to condense the exciting experience of the MMO team's raid boss battle without any lengthy development, and is scheduled to be released in 2026.The 2025 PAX West Fair (Boom 648) will be available for a playable trial version.

Everbloom has worked with multiple heavyweight IPs - such as Disney, Dungeons and Dragons, Universal Studios, etc., but Zero Point Agreement is their first completely original worldview. If you are a Final Fantasy 14 player, this game may be particularly attractive to you.

“Building indie games has always been our dream,” said co-founder Tom van Becker. “Minecraft has given us a solid foundation, but we have grown to a need for a wider space. Zero Point Agreement is the starting point for us to create completely self-construction.”

From Minecraft to millions of sales

The studio’s journey began in 2016, with a group of young creators participating in the PlanetMinecraft construction competition, which eventually caught Microsoft’s attention and was invited to join the Minecraft market plan. The plot they produced exceeded one million to map sales, which started this journey.

“We are constantly facing various limitations in creating content within the framework of existing games and code bases,” Van Becker said. “We need more freedom and creative space, so we made this bold and risky decision to transform into independent game development.”

"Zero Point Agreement" is a BOSS rush Rogue Lite game that supports 1-4 players to play. It heavily draws on the MMO style combat design and mechanism combat - there is no endless brushing of equipment loops, no redundant content, only compact combat and a quick restart experience.

“We went through a long conceptual phase, and everyone in the team came up with multiple game ideas,” Van Becker explained, “and we then took apart the ideas together to prototype the concepts that were most passionate, and the rest were put on hold.”

"The players of Final Fantasy 14," he continued, "Rabbit & Steel Studios has refined the essence of it and made a great game. We think there is still a lot of room for expansion in the concept, and its gameplay cycle is very attractive."

Currently, the team has about 12 developers working remotely, including old members who have worked with me since the Minecraft era and new partners. All of them are committed to transforming years of UGC (user-generated content) experience into their own works.

From blocks to boss battle

Everbloom's origin story is very modern. In 2016, the team won the prestigious PlanetMinecraft construction competition, an opportunity that attracted the attention of Microsoft and allowed them to join the Minecraft market creator program.Since then, the studio has produced content for top IPs such as Disney, Dungeons and Dragons, Universal Studios, reaching millions of players and making headlines in major media.

But behind the success of these authorized cooperation is their deeper ambition to create original games.

“We need more freedom and creative abilities,” Van Becker said, “so we risked the bold decision to transform into independent game development.”

From UGC to Independent Development

“It’s an unprecedented attempt to transform from a UGC creator to an independent game developer,” Van Becker added, “but with UGC platforms like Minecraft, Rob Less, Fortnite, I believe this transformation will be seen more and more in the gaming industry.”

To be honest, his words make sense. Many of the most talented designers in the gaming industry start from the UGC field and gradually participate in larger projects.Everbloom has become one of the pioneers of this transformation by developing this complete standalone Rogue Lite game.

Everbloom's journey is a rare leap from UGC creation to full-time independent developers. They represent a new generation of game creators - starting from platforms such as "Minecraft", "Robu Less", and "Fortnite", and are now gradually growing into developers who build games from scratch.

“I think the future of the gaming industry is hidden among those who make maps in Minecraft and games in Rob Less,” Van Becker said. “These platforms provide extremely convenient ways for creators to quickly make games and reach a large audience. It’s a great training ground for game studios – it’s really for us.”

The Zero Point Agreement is scheduled to be released in 2026.
