The Korea Games Management Commission (GRAC) said Valve has agreed to cooperate with the removal of a module involving the "Gwangju Incident" and "distorts historical facts" in the country's key historical events.
The mod is a fully remodeled mod created by a fan of the popular strategy role-playing game Horse Riding & Killing: The Chapter, which was originally uploaded to the game's Steam Creative Workshop page. The mod is called "Gwangju Running Man", which transforms the medieval setting of "Horse Riding and Killing: The Chapter" into a modern portrayal of the democratization movement in South Korea.
The Korea Games Management Commission (GRAC) initially banned the "Horse Riding and Killing: Team" module in South Korea, and then joined hands with the South Korean government to demand that Valve suspend the module worldwide.
Valve cooperated, and as of June 12, the "Guangzhou Running Man" module has been deleted from Steam.Valve commented that it recognizes the importance of the historical event to the Korean people. This is a rare case where the Steam platform takes action based on local political and historical sensitivities.
