Japanese gaming media "Famitong" released sales data for domestic home game software (physical version only) and hardware in June 2025 (statistic period is May 26 to June 29).The new generation of Nintendo Switch 2, which was officially launched on June 5, sold 1.402 million units in less than a month, setting a historic start to the Japanese home console market.

In terms of software, Switch 2's first escort work "Mario Kart: World" performed strongly, with sales of 1.185 million copies in a single month, ranking first, becoming a key driver in the early stages of Switch 2's release.The second place is "Welcome!Tama Gezi Happy Town" (102,000 copies), and the third place is "Death Stranding 2" (72,000 copies) on the PS5 platform.

The top five game software sales in June are:
First place: "Switch 2" - 1,185,113 books
Second place: "Welcome!Tama Gezi Happy Town (Switch) – 102,289 books
Third place: Death Stranding 2 (PS5) – 71,964 books
Fourth place: "Eldon Far Ring: The Night Landing" (PS5) – 66,590
Fifth place: Rune Workshop: Dragon World (Switch) – 64,790 books
In terms of hardware, the Nintendo Switch 2 has a significantly leading sales volume of 1,402,183 units; the original Switch series (including Lite and OLED versions) has a sales volume of 78,097 units, ranking second.

Calculated by total software sales, the top manufacturers are:
Nintendo – 1.441 million books
Bandai Namco – 161,000 books
Sony Interactive Entertainment – 117,000 books
In addition, other popular new works released in June also performed well, including "Eldon Fargo: The Night Land" (released on May 30, PS5/PS4) and "Romantic Workshop: Dragon World" (released on June 5, Switch/Switch 2) both entered the top 20.
Looking ahead to July, many new works such as Nintendo's "Dong Qigang: All-Opening" (released on July 17) and "Super Mario Party Unrivaled Event Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Unrivaled Event TV" (released on July 24) will be launched one after another, which is expected to continue to drive market popularity.
