Cerny was interviewed by foreign media Tom's Guide and was asked about Sony's partnership with AMD.The media noted that AMD's next-generation technology is expected to be launched in 2026, and Mark Cerny responded that Sony will not follow up as quickly as its partners.

"AMD is developing very quickly, and I'm working on preparing for the next generation of hosts, and this timeframe is based on 'multi-year'," Cerny said.

Considering that it has entered the second half of 2025, "years" means that the PS6 will not be released until the end of 2028 at the earliest, and it will not even be seen in 2029.This may bring relief to players, as many people think 2027 is a bit too early for PS6.
