Following the news that Microsoft announced company-wide layoffs, Bethesda, also affected by the layoffs, reportedly withdraws funding support for multiple projects of several other development studios.

The news comes from Romero Games, which revealed on social media that Bethesda has canceled funding for its upcoming project.The related game is a brand new first-person shooter, originally released by Bethesda, but it is not clear where the project will go in the absence of funds.Here is the full statement:

"We have some tough news to share. Last night, we learned that the publisher had cancelled funding for our game, and several unannounced projects from other studios were cancelled. This is a strategic decision made by the publisher's senior management, which is far beyond our horizon or control. We deeply hope there is any way to stop this result.

“This is definitely not a reflection of the work, performance or quality of our team, the project itself. We complete all milestones on time every time, always highly rated and pass all internal audits with ease. We are incredibly proud of the work ongoing and the talented team behind it. This is the best team we have ever worked with.

"We are currently evaluating the next plan and taking quick action to support our team. Many of us have been working together for over a decade, and some have been even over 20 years.
