Toca Boca, a developer of the Toca series of games, has laid off employees, and the specific number of layoffs is unknown.

Employees affected by the layoffs have shared the news on LinkedIn, covering multiple positions including art, quality assurance, design and development.

Former game designer Andrew Brierley Cramer said the layoffs were due to “project adjustments and cost savings.”

“It’s not easy to leave a team that you care so much, but I’m proud of what we’ve built and grateful for all I’ve learned.”

Former artistic director Kim Awa expressed a similar view: “While it’s hard to leave such a kind and inspiring group, I’m incredibly proud of what we have achieved together.”

The affected staff also include artist Gabriel Fram and embedded quality assurance staff Batilde de La Schappelle.
