"Dive Diver"'s DLC "In the Jungle" has been postponed to 2026.
We saw the news about Deep in the Jungle at the 2024 TGA Awards Ceremony. As a brand new plot DLC for this underwater exploration/sushi restaurant running game, the brief trailer at the time confirmed that the content will be launched at some point in the end of 2025.But unfortunately, this timeline has been postponed.
The above update comes from a 10-minute video, which covers DLC's release information and pricing, and confirms that "Diver Diver" is now available on the global Epic game store. The video also reveals that Nintendo Switch 2 players will also usher in a free upgrade.
"The upcoming DLC in the Deep in the Jungle" explains: "We are going to do our best to ensure a fresh and exciting experience to the game," explains Mintrocket Studio Director and Head. He then shared a new content preview.
"The village here is their place to take their adventures, and it's the lake next to the village. We're finally going to add freshwater fish for players to catch and cook, as many players have expected. I hope everyone is excited about it.
But there is bad news: Although we announced the launch by the end of 2025, unfortunately, in order to add more exciting content, the release time may need to be slightly delayed until early 2026.There are still many cool ideas on the development team that you don't want to miss.We will share more information soon and notify everyone as soon as the release date is determined.”
Huang Zai-ho also talked about the pricing and limited-time exclusiveness of DLC in "Yiban's Overnight".
“We know that some players have been disappointed lately,” he admitted, “When working with large IP holders, sometimes they are asked to take this approach to protecting their IP value. Nevertheless, we thought it was worth it to offer cool new content, so we decided to launch the DLC in a six-month window. However, many players expressed disappointment, and some feared it was like hunger marketing.”
“Although this is not our intention at all, we fully understand this view,” Huang Zai-ho added, “We want to apologize to all the players who are disappointed.”
He said the team is now able to extend the DLC's availability time after conveying feedback to IP holder Sega. Now, the supply time of "Yiban's Overnight" DLC on all platforms will not only be extended until the end of 2025, but until the end of 2026.
Interestingly, the Godzilla DLC package, which was free last year but only obtained at the time, has also returned.Players can now access the content on all platforms, and it will also be "free and continuously available" until the end of next year.
But that's not all.The feedback also made the team realize that “the price seems too high in terms of the amount of content provided.”
“I admit that we are not fully thoughtful about pricing,” he said. “So we will offer discounts regularly so that everyone can buy at a more reasonable price.” At the time of writing, players can enjoy a 50% discount.
"Diver Diver" has previously launched DLC with additional appearance, free linkage content for "Fishing Sail Undercurrents", and related content for "Godzilla".We have previously known that the game will launch a larger plot DLC, but the specific content and release date are still unclear.
