Jay Soren, a developer of the well-received work "Dreamsettler", confirmed that the highly anticipated sequel, Dreamsettler, has cancelled development under his "joint decision" with publisher No More Robots.

"This is no joke, sorry, everyone," Sauron wrote in the description of the video.

"I don't want to do a video like this, but I'll just say it right- Dreamsettler is cancelled," he said in the ten-minute video. "That means it won't be released and it won't be completed. It's a shared decision between the publisher and me. They didn't withdraw their support and did their best to keep the project going, but it's time to stop."

However, before elaborating on the reasons, Sauron thanked all the supporters who signed up for his recently launched Patreon crowdfunding, saying that turning to the crowdfunding platform was "a last try."Refunds will be provided for payments in the last month.

Sauron also said that while it is currently uncertain "what form will be presented", he does intend to release more content originally planned to be included in the game, possibly including playable versions.He also enthusiastically called on the game company to contact two developers who were fired for project cancellation to provide them with job opportunities.

"Simply put: this time we have a budget, trying to plan the game from top to bottom, roughly determine all the plot points, expensive filming or game material that can be affordable, and how long it will cost the programmer. Because of this money... you have to go on a schedule, but I have never successfully completed the game according to the design document."

He then talked about some of his favorite features in Dreamsettler, such as the virtual music sequencer Oomph, but the team "severely exceeds the standard of planning, and the content is too complex and gorgeous."

“I’m deeply sorry for all the players who are looking forward to this masterpiece,” Sauron added. “It took me almost five years. Although I made the spin-off game Slayer X, which is an interesting adjustment, this is the highlight and I had high hopes for it.”

Sauron said he still plans to make his next update for Slayer X and hopes to launch early next year.

"Maybe I've been exhausted all the time, I don't know. But I can do Slayer X, but I want to do things like children, content designed for kids. Not sure if it's a video series, a kids app or something else. It's not because I think it's a good market, but because I've looked for something but it doesn't exist, and I want to do it for my own kids."
