Remedy said it is listening to players’ feedback on FBC: Firebreak “resoundingly and clearly” and promises to improve the game “from now on”, especially the game’s opening hour.
As its first self-released game, the developer of FBC: Firebreak said after collecting feedback from social media, official channels and Steam that while "some aspects are going well", "apparently, not everything is going well."Therefore, their first priority is to improve the "early experience" of the game, speed up the game's progress and make it more fulfilling.
"The first few hours of the game failed to provide a good experience, which was caused by a number of factors. Partly because of the lack of guidance, the failure to explain the game system, how to effectively utilize the tools at hand, and the unclear mission objectives and how to do the job efficiently."
"In addition, the 'power fantasy' experience for a few hours of the game is not good, because the initial weapon feels insufficient, and unlocking higher-level weapons requires too much swipe. We see from the data and feedback that players who persist in playing, unlock more powerful level 3 weapons and skills, and perform full three-zone missions at higher threat levels have a better experience."
Therefore, Remedy said he hopes to let players "experience the fun faster", which also means allowing players to obtain better tools and weapons faster. The studio believes that players will get a more fulfilling start by improving newbie guidance, improving user interface clarity, and making tasks easier to get started.
