Switch is very popular in Japan, with sales of 36 million units, which means that on average one in every three Japanese owns Switch.
A survey based on 300,000 user data released by Dongyang Economics recently showed that one of the reasons for the success of Switch is that it attracted a large number of female players. The survey shows that nearly half of Switch users are women, while the proportion of female users on PlayStation and PC is 20% and 15% respectively.
"Oriented by the Eastern Economics" explanation is: "One of the reasons for this is that there is a lot of content on the Switch that can be played without superb gaming skills, and there are some popular IPs exclusive to the Switch. Compared with other game consoles, the Switch is more affordable and can meet the needs of people who want to play games with their families, so it is very popular."
The Nintendo Switch 2 will be officially released on June 5, and it looks promising, and may easily attract more women to buy it.
