"Light and Shadow: Expedition No. 33" director Guillaume Broche embarked on an RPG journey very early. Recently, he revealed that he started playing Final Fantasy 8 "when my brother and I were almost illiterate."
"Light and Shadow: Expedition No. 33" is like a love letter to JRPG, and Broche has a special liking for "Final Fantasy 8".Broche recently interviewed by The Washington Post, and he said: "When Final Fantasy 8 was released, my brother and I were almost illiterate... We had wonderful memories of the hard fight with the first boss. We couldn't beat him because we were illiterate, and the only thing we could do was to attack automatically. It was really bad."
Broche also said that although "Light and Shadow: Expedition No. 33" has a Japanese flavor, it is not a unilateral absorption and reference, but a communication between the two cultures."When we took the game to Japan and showed them the twisted version of Paris, it immediately caught their attention because they were also influenced by French culture. There was always a magic of mutual attraction between the two cultures."
Broche concluded at the end of the interview: "We devoted all our joy and sincerity to create this game, and we believe that players can resonate with it... We have no reservations, and the soul of the entire team is melted into the game."
