Despite the ups and downs, "Mecha Warrior 5: The Horde" is still advancing.New mechas, fierce battles and a brand new battle are coming.
Since its debut in 1989, the "Mecha Warrior" series has been circulating among different developers for many years until it was taken over by Piranha Games in 2011."Mecha Warrior 5: Horde" was released a few months ago, but sales were not up to expectations.Coupled with a branch of Piranha Games that has laid off employees, it makes the future of the series seem a bit unstable. However, despite the setbacks, the game continues to gain support – they have just announced a new expansion, which shows that Mecha Warrior will not disappear yet.
A list of new content
Ghost Bear: Flash Storm is an upcoming expansion pack that is scheduled to be released in April 2025.In this expansion, players will command the elite force of Clan Ghost Bear, Silveroot Keshik, to participate in a new battle with 12 missions. It also introduced Elementals, the tribe's powered armored infantry, which had previously only appeared in cutscenes.
The expansion pack will launch four new all-round mechs (OmniMech):
- Night Gyr
- Ebon Jaguar
- Fire Moth
- Huntsman
And four new combat mechs:
- Kodiak
- Jenner II Type C (Jenner IlC)
- Hunchback IlC
- Rifleman IlC
Players will also be able to command the "Elemental Warrior" squad during combat and board the command ship of the "Ghost Bear" tribe, Grizzly, to participate in the battle.
"Ghost Bear: Flash" will be available on Steam, Epic Game Store, Xbox Series S|X and PlayStation 5 platforms, with the same price as the previous expansion pack "Trial of War" at the beginning."Trial of War" was later offered for free, and players who have purchased it were also refunded.
Trial of War became free after listening to community feedback because players believe its pricing does not match what is provided. It only added a 5-player PvP arena mode, a collaborative zombie mode, and 12 new all-round mecha variants, which made many fans unhappy. And "Ghost Bear: Flash" contains a complete plot campaign, which makes its pricing much more reasonable.
