There are two grand MODs related to the GTA series recently, namely the Liberty City Preservation Project and Vice City: The NextGen Edition. Both projects quickly gained attention from Take-Two and Rockstar Games. As a result, the former was removed from the shelves, while the latter was released online through private channels. Now, a former employee of R Star talks about the matter.

Ober Fermey is probably well known to players of "GTA".He worked at Rockstar Games until 2009, and was involved in the creation of many works in this popular series. He often shares interesting stories from that period, such as the origin of movie footage, the intentional trash piled up on the streets, and transportation tips.

He now expressed his views on the removal of the community-created MOD by Take-Two and Rockstar Games.Fermey noted that from a business standpoint, the move was completely reasonable.Ultimately, for a company, the most important thing is profit, and such projects can conflict with their potential interests.

"There is no need to be angry about this. The company should do that."

Fermay noted that "City of Sin: Next Generation" is a direct competitor to "GTA: Trilogy-Ultimate".The "Free City Protection Plan" may conflict with the remake of "GTA4" - however, he emphasized that he had no idea whether he was really making such a remake.

"Our most optimistic expectation is that they can allow those MODs that do not interfere with their business. For example, DCA3 (GTA3 for Sega DC hosts). As far as I know, they have recently performed in allowing these projects to continue.not bad."

The developer's remarks are not particularly novel. Even if some people do not agree with this situation, everyone should be clear about the motivation behind Take-Two and Rockstar Games' move.

Some people in the comments also pointed out that if the remake released by R Star is of high quality, players would not be so angry, obviously referring to "GTA: Trilogy - Ultimate Edition".Fermay agrees with these views.
