Swedish publisher Paradox Interactive (Paradox) and Finnish game studio Colossal Order (creators of the well-known series "Cities: Skylines") jointly announced the termination of their long-term cooperation.The subsequent development of "Cities: Skylines 2" will be transferred to Paradox's internal studio - Iceflake Studios, which developed "The Last Day".

Colossal Order would like to express its gratitude to Paradox and the player community for their support over the years.CEO Marina Halikainen said: "The Cities series and more than fifteen years of cooperation with Paradox have always been at the core of our business. We believe that the series will continue to flourish under Paradox's leadership. We will invest our accumulated experience and creativity in the development of new projects in the future."

Colossal Order will release several updates before the project is handed over, including a "bicycle patch" that adds a bicycle system and a beta version of editor module support.Starting in 2026, subsequent development of the game will be entirely handled by Iceflake Studios.
