Today, TGA finally announced the list of nominees for the most high-profile game of the year. As expected, many popular games such as "Light and Shadow: Expedition 33", "Death Stranding 2" and "Hollow Knight: Silk Song" are shortlisted.

PlayStation ended up becoming the publisher with the most nominations at this awards ceremony, with "Ghost of Mount Yotei" and "Death Stranding 2" both receiving 7 nominations.However, Xbox once again failed to win this most important award.

This is the 11th consecutive year that Xbox first-party games have not been nominated for Game of the Year (GOTY) at The Game Awards.Xbox Game Studios ultimately received five nominations, but none of its major titles were shortlisted for Game of the Year.

Even counting Bethesda titles like Raiders of the Lost Ark and Doom: Dark Ages, Microsoft only received nine nominations.

Many players believe that "Brain Navigator 2" has been nominated for Game of the Year in 2021.However, Double Fine clearly announced before releasing it to all platforms that it is not a Microsoft or Xbox exclusive, as the game has been developed and not made in-house by Xbox.
