Today, 2K and Gearbox Software are proud to announce the launch of Borderlands® 4’s first bounty pack, “Bounty Pack 1: Lacy’s Mercenary Day Rescue Plan.”As a special holiday thank you to the amazing Borderlands 4 community, this bounty pack will be available for free to all Borderlands 4 players starting today.

The first bounty pack is now free
Players can now team up with Rasi, the affable leader of the Outworld, to defeat the stingy Skrull Minister and bring holiday cheer to the people of Kairos. As a holiday-themed bounty pack, it is very important to ensure that players can play it before the end of the year. However, as the team continues to work on improving the Borderlands 4 gameplay experience, it was unable to cram as much content into the first Bounty Pack as originally planned.
Therefore, in the spirit of the holiday, and as a thank you to the community players for their enthusiasm and support, 2K and Gearbox are pleased to announce that the first bounty package will be officially launched at 1:00 am Beijing time (9:00 am Pacific time) and will be free for all "Borderlands 4" players to claim!*
2K and Gearbox are hard at work developing future Bounty Packs that will be even richer and packed with the exciting content players have been waiting for.Stay tuned!

Added fifth bounty package
In addition to making the first Bounty Pack available for free, 2K and Gearbox will also add a new, fifth Bounty Pack, meaning players can expect even more hijinks on Kairos in the coming year.Players who have purchased the Bounty Pack Bundle will receive the added fifth Bounty Pack for free.Owners of the Deluxe, Super Deluxe, or Bounty Pack bundles will still receive the four paid Bounty Packs (Bounty Packs 2, 3, 4, and 5) as usual, while the first Bounty Pack is now free for all players.* More details about the release time and content of future bounty packs will be announced later.
Bounty packs are paid content launched after the game is released, bringing new decorations, a richer treasure hunt, and short and concise plot content to Kairos. They are designed for early to mid-game players looking to add an extra layer of cosmetic flair to their Vault Hunters, and their quests can be played at any point during the leveling process.Story content and overall themes will vary depending on the bounty pack.
The Bounty Pack is just one part of an extensive post-launch content roadmap that will also include two Story Packs**.The story pack is the largest paid content in Borderlands 4.They include tons of new cosmetics and gear, as well as new Vault Hunters, new areas, and a new mix of main and side quests.

First Bounty Pack Contents
In "Bounty Pack 1: Lacy's Mercenary Day Rescue Plan", Lacy's expectations for holiday celebrations conflict with the approach of the stingy Minister Skrull, one of the Time Lord's men who is responsible for making all celebrations as bland and the same as possible.Through a series of new missions, players will stop at nothing to show the Skrulls what Mercenary Day is truly about (and possibly earn some new legendary loot in the process).
Bounty Pack 1 contains a secret card, and players can unlock new rewards through game progression, including 24 unlockable decorations and four pieces of equipment that can be obtained repeatedly. These repeatable equipment can be obtained an unlimited number of times, so players have the opportunity to obtain equipment with perfect attributes and suitable for specific equipment.

The first bounty pack will be awarded to all players via the November 21st update. After the update is completed, find and interact with the gift box in any main city (it will be marked as a new task on the map) to start the task of assisting Lacy.
The first invincible BOSS is about to appear
For players looking for an extreme challenge, we will launch an extremely challenging BOSS battle through a free update in mid-December."Spore Death" will bring end-game content that tests skills and equipment, and the battlefield is set in a new arena. Each invincible boss has huge health points, critical attack damage and new scene effects, making it the most difficult challenge in the game to date.Powerful new legendary equipment will serve as generous rewards for those brave enough to defeat these terrifying enemies. With the "Spore Reaper" update, the level cap of the Ultimate Vault Hunter mode will be increased by one level.
In addition, the development team has begun work on a team challenge that has been highly requested by the player community, which will be launched for free to all players in 2026.Much like the popular Team Challenges in Borderlands 3, players can expect to experience a challenging sequence of battles in a new area, including massive enemies and a challenging final boss.More information will be announced in the future.

future outlook
The first story pack for Borderlands 4 will be released in the first quarter of 2026."Crazy Ellie and the Cursed Vault" will take on a cosmic horror theme with a bloodier and darker tone, and welcomes the return of the indomitable and fan-favorite Ellie. The new playable Vault Hunter is C4SH, a former casino dealer bot with extremely unpredictable mobility skills. The story pack is the largest paid content in Borderlands 4 and includes a new Vault Hunter, multiple main and side quests set in a new area on Kairos, new equipment, and a host of new decorations.
