The first season of "Call of Duty: Black Ops 7" will be launched in a few weeks. As the launch date approaches, the developers are still fine-tuning the multiplayer mode and campaign experience, striving to achieve the smoothest state for both.
To that end, we've seen a ton of changelogs and tweaks.Treyarch has even modified the conditions for players to unlock the endgame mode so that all players can experience it.Now, Treyarch design director Matt Scrones has detailed some of the major adjustments through the development diary, starting with aim assist.

"Aim assist is a hot topic among players. We have been paying close attention to relevant discussions. At the same time, combined with internal data, the current settings are generally in line with expectations," Scrones said. "But before the first season goes online, we will make some very subtle adjustments to slightly increase the long-distance strength of aim assist."
The goal of this adjustment is apparently to "create a more balanced and competitive experience" by expanding the scope of rotation aim assist. However, this also comes with a new requirement: the player's right stick operation must continue to track the enemy for the rotation aim assist to be fully activated. This setting may balance out the strength gain of aim assist, but the fine-tuning of this type of feature is usually so small that it is difficult for players to detect significant changes.
Scrones also mentioned other pain points in the multiplayer mode of "Black Ops 7": "Regarding spawn points, we have been closely monitoring the spawn point system and spawn point logic across the board. Season 1 will bring some major adjustments, and before that, we are focusing on spawn point issues in the free-for-all mode and team deathmatch mode."
Another big adjustment will be the nerfs to drone pods. But don’t get your hopes up too high, as Treyarch doesn’t seem to have fully resolved the issues yet: “We have a lot of adjustable dimensions, so we’re still figuring out the exact adjustments. It might be reducing the number of drones or lowering their speed, but rest assured we’re keeping a close eye on this.”
Other adjustments ahead of the launch of Season 1 include increasing the visible range of the default multiplayer minimap, weapon balance adjustments, as well as crash fixes and stability updates.
