Remedy has postponed the "Rogue Protocol" update for "FBC: Firebreak" to January 2026, saying that the update "still needs some time to polish."
Although players' long-awaited cross-platform voice chat feature has been launched as planned this week, Remedy's larger "Grand Rogue Protocol" update and new mode "Endless Shift" have been postponed to an unspecified date in January.

The development team said that the extra time "will help us ensure that everything is the best it can be: polished, well-balanced, and worthy of players' time."To ease the regrets caused by the delay, the team also shared more details about this new wave survival mode.
The update announcement explains: "Each round of 'Endless Shift' will put you and your teammates into a closed arena, and waves of enemies will continue to get stronger as the round progresses. You can always start the battle with only the most basic equipment. After each wave of battle, you will collect 'corruption energy' - the strange residue left by defeated enemies. This energy can be used to unlock powerful upgrades, weapons and enhancements between rounds, allowing you to create new outfits every time you play."
The "Grand Rogue Protocol" update will be the second major content update for "The Firewall" since September's "Breakpoint" update.Remedy previously admitted in the "Breakpoint" update that it had "carefully listened to a large amount of feedback" and worked throughout the summer to bring "significant improvements, new systems, and new content" to the game.
Last month it was revealed that FBC: Firebreak had fallen short of the studio's internal goals despite "improved player data and sales performance" following the Breakpoint update.Remedy issued a profit warning to investors, saying that "due to weak sales of "FBC: Firebreak"", it lowered its expected operating profit, and said that failure to meet the target "had a significant impact" on the studio's financial condition, and also lowered its performance expectations. The studio now expects operating profits to be "negative and below year-ago levels."
