Steam users can participate in voting for the 11 awards of the 2025 Steam Awards starting today, and the deadline is December 1.The selection categories include Game of the Year, Best Game on Steam Deck, Best Visual Style, etc.Steam will announce the shortlist for each award during the Winter Sale on December 18, and the final winner will be announced on January 3, 2026.

This year's awards include classic categories such as "Game of the Year" and "Best Original Soundtrack" - shortlisted works include role-playing games such as "Light and Shadow: Expedition 33" and "Digimon Story: Spacetime Stranger", as well as the "VR Game of the Year" category with more stringent selection criteria.Except for the "Giving of Love Award", all nominated games must meet the conditions of being online on the Valve platform for less than one year.Therefore, although "Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth" was released as a PS5 limited-time exclusive in February 2024, it will still be eligible to participate after it is launched on the Steam store in January 2025.

Steam users can now have a hand in deciding which PC games become benchmarks on the Valve store.The preliminary voting period opens today and ends at 1 p.m. Eastern Time on Monday, December 1.The finalists for all 11 awards will be announced simultaneously with the Steam Winter Sale on Thursday, December 18th at 1pm.The winners are scheduled to be announced on Saturday, January 3, 2026.Some of the featured awards include: "Steam Deck Best Game Award" for Valve's popular handheld Steam Deck device optimization certification. Works such as "Hades 2", "Ninja Gaiden 4", "Hollow Knight: Silk Song" are all eligible.
Another special award, "It's better to have fun alone than to have fun together" focuses on multiplayer games released in the past year, including buyout productions such as "REPO" and "ARC Raiders" and free games such as "Sixteen Voices of Yanyun" and "Marvel Confrontation".The "Pay of Love" award is for games that have been released for more than a year. Popular works such as "Baldur's Gate 3" and "Final Fantasy 14" are among the candidates.
