宫本茂表示任天堂将继续尝试一切可能探索的事物

"Nintendo has always adhered to the concept of 'endless efforts,'" he said. "For example, when we tried to enter the movie field and launched "Super Mario Bros. Movie," the outside world will compare its box office with other movies. But even if this movie tops the box office chart, we still think it still has room for improvement."

Since "Super Mario Bros. Movie" became one of the top-grossing films in 2023, Nintendo has continued to make efforts in Hollywood. The "Legend of Zelda" movie is currently in the production stage, and the "Super Mario Galaxy" movie is expected to be released in 2026.

Shigeru Miyamoto believes that the sales of some Nintendo IPs "are expected to break through the boundaries of the entertainment field."

“A point of view I often say recently is: there is no upper limit in the entertainment world,” he said. “From this perspective, there are still many markets around the world that can be further explored through Nintendo Switch... One of Nintendo’s characteristics is that ‘there is nothing wrong with trying anything’.”

"Mario Kart 8: Deluxe Edition" is the best-selling game on the original Nintendo Switch, while "Mario Kart 7" is the best-selling game on the 3DS platform. When asked if there were other games that could challenge Mario Kart's sales record on Nintendo's new console, Miyamoto said it was possible, adding a historical anecdote about why Pokémon Red and Blue were split into two versions.

"I think it is precisely because of people like Satoshi Tajiri (the supervisor of the "Pokémon" series) that new ideas will be born," Shigeru Miyamoto said of Tajiri Satoshi. "They will continue to challenge themselves and surpass the achievements of their predecessors."
