Minamoto Yoshitsune: A military general in the late Heian period who played an active role in the Genpei War and led the Genji to victory.He was the younger brother of the future shogun Minamoto Yoritomo and was said to have learned swordsmanship from the Tengu.Now he and Minamoto Yoritomo part ways and become a fugitive.

Minamoto Yoritomo: The leader of the Minamoto clan.He teamed up with his younger brother Minamoto Yoshitsune to defeat the Taira clan and became the first "barbarian general" of the Kamakura shogunate.But now the brothers have turned against each other, and Yoritomo is unwilling to go back and mend the relationship out of his own considerations.
