Yesterday, Embark Studios, the developer of ARC Raiders, expressed its gratitude to the gaming community for allowing the game to surpass the 700,000 online player mark across all platforms last weekend.
Today, publisher Nexon (parent company of Embark) announced in a press release that the PvPvE third-person extraction shooter has sold more than 4 million copies across all platforms to date, making it Nexon’s most successful global launch ever.
“We would like to sincerely congratulate and thank Embark Studios for achieving the most successful global launch in Nexon history. We are deeply moved by the enthusiasm shown by the player community, and we look forward to further igniting player enthusiasm through a series of content updates. This content includes new maps, ARC vehicles, weapons and missions, which will be launched starting this month.”
Just a few days ago, estimates from Alinea Analytics showed that "ARC Raiders" sold 2.5 million copies in its first week.Apparently, the game still maintains strong sales momentum in its second week on the market.
ARC Raiders is the second game from Embark Studios, a studio founded by some of the former Battlefield series developers who left DICE.Their first work, "The Finals", is a competitive, free-to-play first-person shooter that features an arena mode where players can form teams to participate.The initial performance of the game was acceptable, but many players did not continue to pay attention, and the studio was hesitant to continue supporting the game.However, the situation now seems to have improved, with Embark CEO Patrick Söderlund recently saying that the growth in the number of players ensures that "The Finals" will be supported "for many years to come."
