Japanese game publisher Rideon Japan recently announced that the Nintendo Switch version of the card RPG “Brave x Junction” cannot be released in North America and Europe. While specific details are still being confirmed, the problem appears to be that the game contains "problematic content involving minors."

This game is a fantasy-themed card RPG that will be released in October 2025. It uses a turn-based card battle system with blackjack gameplay.Although the game does not depict adult themes or explicit content (Japan's CERO rating is 15+), the characters wear revealing clothing and include suggestive illustrations of defeats. The game is currently available on the PlayStation Store, Steam and Japanese Switch stores.
However, the game's European and American release on the Switch platform has encountered obstacles.Rideon stated as early as early October that the Japanese version would be released as scheduled, but the status of the European and American versions was undecided. The latest announcement confirms that a European and American release has been officially dismissed.
The developer released a set of joking illustrations along with the announcement: The magician character in the game was told by soldiers that his appearance was judged to be "problematic content involving minors." The magician responded in shock: "What?? Saying that I am a minor?? What kind of judgment is this?" - This obviously represents the attitude of the development team. There is also a slogan "We will not tolerate sexual content involving minors" in the background of the illustration.

Currently, Rideon has not yet made a statement on whether it will make adjustments for the European and American Switch versions. The following are two character designs that were deemed problematic:
