Lunacy Games, a studio founded by Blizzard veteran Bill Roper, recently received significant investment.Big Bang Accelerator has invested $500,000 in the studio.

The funding will be used to develop Innsmouth Mysteries, a cooperative role-playing game that blends horror elements with evacuation gameplay, with a plot inspired by Howard Lovecraft's novella "The Haunting of Innsmouth."This investment will be mainly used to complete the development prototype of the game. Roper said that having a complete prototype will help the studio to obtain more investment in the future to improve and expand the game content.


In an interview with GamesBeat, Roper admitted that obtaining "any kind of financing" is full of challenges.Lunacy Games began looking for investors as early as 2022, but then the game industry encountered a cold wave, causing the market environment to deteriorate.Thankfully, their persistence paid off.

Currently, "Mystery over Innsmouth" has not announced any expected release date.Lunacy Games now has 13 team members.In addition to "The Innsmouth Mystery", the studio is also developing two other games simultaneously: including a role-playing survival game called "Skinwalkers" and an action role-playing game "Hellgate: Redemption".
